Approach to Therapy:

At its core, diversity is about embracing differences within everyone regardless of race, religious views, class, gender, age, sexuality, education, and ability, to name a few. Diversity beautifully portrays our uniqueness. In light of that, I strive to understand the whole person and the many facets that make them who they are. I believe in building a relationship with each of my clients and seek to create trust through the therapeutic relationship. I hold my clients' vulnerabilities without judgment in a way that helps them become their most authentic selves.

Clinical Interests:

My specialties are working with teens, emerging adults, adults, single parents, and families. My focus areas include relationship issues, parent-teen relationships, family dynamics, anxiety, depression, cultural stressors, school issues, athletics, life transitions, individuals with disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder. I enjoy working with families, parents, and individuals who have children or family members with intellectual disabilities, as well as neurodivergent individuals. Helping a family member or being an individual who identifies as neurodivergent can be overwhelming, and having a space to process and talk about our needs and resources is essential.

I am a trained and licensed art therapist skilled in facilitating healing through nonverbal expression, which is helpful for those with limited verbal ability or language to express thoughts or feelings. Lastly, I have a very special love for working with current and former athletes. As a former collegiate athlete, I help facilitate deeper conversations about the struggle and anxiety that comes with performance, injuries, and life after your sport.

Education and Training:

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Northern Colorado. At the University of Northern Colorado, I was an NCAA Division I athlete and participated in the track and field program. I am also a former competitive gymnast. In 2012 I moved to Chicago for my program where I attended Adler University and completed my Master of Counseling Art Therapy program in 2014. I became a registered art therapist in 2016 and am working towards becoming board certified.
