Pronouns - she/her

I think of therapy like personal training for social and emotional goals: we have an hour a week to develop new skills and practice them in a safe environment.
— Morgan Sweeney

Education and Training:

On the movement side, I’ve been a yoga instructor (RYT-200 certified) since 2018, and an aerial fitness instructor since 2022. Academically, I studied Cognitive Science (a blend of psychology, neuroscience, and philosophy) during my undergrad at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and earned my graduate degree (M.A.) in Couples and Family Therapy from Adler University in 2024.

3 Things I Love:

Movement! I grew up doing gymnastics and now do yoga, aerial, dance, biking, and anything that seems fun.

Nature: I'm a huge fan of hiking and camping; my favorite thing is to find a secret swimming hole in the middle of a forest

Music & singing: I make pop rock music in addition to being a therapist!

Approach to Therapy:

I believe that emotional experiences impact our psyche the same way that physical experiences impact our bodies. All wounds require care in order to heal. Our deepest emotional wounds are social–whether a deep cut from a loved one, or a thousand papercuts we absorb from our culture as we grow.

Our bodies have an incredible ability to heal, and having access to resources can dramatically improve the process. I think of therapy like personal training for social and emotional goals: we have an hour a week to develop new skills and practice them in a safe environment.

Humans need to feel valued by other people the same way we need food and water, and my biggest priority is to build a therapeutic relationship where you feel connected and cared for. If you’re looking for hope, insight, and playful connection, I could be a good fit.

Clinical Interests:

I specialize in mind-body integration—helping you feel like one whole, valuable, and confident person. I enjoy working with self-esteem, trauma, chronic illness, anxiety, stress, somatic symptoms, sex therapy, communication issues, and emotional regulation. My experience as a yoga instructor informs my mind-body approach to both individual and couples therapy. I love using art, imagination, and movement in session.

As a relational therapist, I work with individuals, partners, kids, adolescents, and families. My approach is rooted in an expansive view of love and family that is LGBTQ+ inclusive, kink and poly-affirming, sex-positive, and antiracist. I spent the majority of my formative years overseas, and have a deep appreciation for the impact of culture on individual and systemic values.
