Caroline Daniels, LSW

Pronouns - she/her

Caroline accepts BCBS PPO, Aetna PPO and is currently accepting new clients.

Life can be messy, overwhelming, and sometimes incredibly unfair. Caroline believes that therapy should be a place where you can show up exactly as you are, without worrying about having the right words, knowing what you need, or pretending that everything is okay. She approaches her work with warmth, curiosity, and a genuine desire to understand each person's unique experience.

Caroline has a special interest in working with individuals and families navigating chronic illness, difficult medical diagnoses, caregiving, and the uncertainty that often comes with these experiences. She understands that when you or someone you love is facing a health challenge, it can affect nearly every part of your life. Relationships change, responsibilities shift, and emotions can become complicated. You might feel grateful and exhausted, hopeful and scared, or love someone deeply while also feeling overwhelmed by what caring for them requires. Caroline believes there should be room for all of those feelings, without judgment or pressure to find a silver lining.

She also enjoys working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, identity exploration, neurodivergence, and major life transitions. Whether you're feeling stuck, struggling in your relationships, trying to make sense of something painful, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, Caroline wants to help you better understand what you're experiencing and figure out what you need.

Caroline doesn't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. She takes time to get to know her clients, understand what matters to them, and build a relationship where they feel comfortable being honest, even when things are difficult to talk about. Her approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), somatic techniques, and narrative therapy.

Her experience in outpatient therapy, behavioral health, substance use treatment, and medical settings has given her a deep appreciation for how complicated life can become when emotional, physical, and practical challenges overlap. She knows that not every problem has an easy solution, and that sometimes what people need most is someone who will listen, help them make sense of what they're carrying, and remind them they don't have to navigate it all alone.

Caroline earned her Master of Social Work from Grand Valley State University and her Bachelor of Social Work from Hope College. She is a Licensed Social Worker in Illinois and is currently working toward her clinical licensure (LCSW). Caroline is directly supervised by Rachael Kossy, LCPC.
