Ally is currently accepting new clients.

I’m a strong believer that the therapeutic relationship should be collaborative and respectful, and that this can only be achieved through a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive lens.
— Ally Burns

Approach to therapy:

I strive to create a safe space where clients can comfortably explore their thoughts and feelings. I believe that everyone brings a unique background and goal to therapy, so I embrace an eclectic approach that’s adaptable to individuals’ and families’ varying needs. This approach includes person-centered, relational, and strengths-based therapies. I’m a strong believer that the therapeutic relationship should be collaborative and respectful, and that this can only be achieved through a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive lens.

Clinical Interests:

I’m passionate about working with clients from all walks in life, whether they’re struggling with role changes, relationship issues, depression, grief, or anxiety. I’m particularly interested in providing perinatal therapy and support, including issues pertaining to family planning, pregnancy, and postpartum, to challenges in parenthood and within families.

Education and Training:

I earned my bachelor’s degree from North Park University and my master’s degree in counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. I’m certified in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International. Volunteering is a passion of mine and I enjoy volunteering at PSI as well as Women Unite!, a nonprofit I co-founded that works to make the world a more just and compassionate place by uplifting marginalized voices within our community.

3 Things I love:

Biking, making playlists for any and every occasion, and exploring new cities
